Can a 17 year old teen who lives in her parent's house and pays rent there have here room legally searched?

The parents granted the search. Is it a legal search and if so, why?Can a 17 year old teen who lives in her parent's house and pays rent there have here room legally searched?
It is a legal search search because the parents gave permission and the parents own the property the room is located in.*Can a 17 year old teen who lives in her parent's house and pays rent there have here room legally searched?
It depends. The answer to this question has nothing to do with the person being 17 or living with her parents. The answer will depends on whether or not the person who consented to the search has equal to access and control of the area to be searched. If they did, then they can legally consent to a search.

For instance, if the cops come to an apartment where 3 roommates live and only one roommate is home. They have a 3 bedroom apartment and each comes and goes in each others room. There are no locks on the doors to the individual bedrooms. Any 1 of the 3 can give consent to search the entire apartment, unless there is some indication that the person giving consent did not have permission to be in a certain area of the apartment.

In the case of your parent's home, unless you had a lock on your bedroom door and you were the only one with a key, anyone with access to your room (meaning your mom when she comes in to get your dirty laundry off the floor) can give consent to the police to enter and search your room.
Yes. The owners of the house have the right to consent to a search of the premises including the area in which a minor child lives.
It's legal because it's still her parents house, and she is a minor, not that it really makes a difference in this case.
well yeah, it is there house, and you are a minor child.
